Concept project
How we’d turn a local tax office website into more customer calls.
Independent concept project. No real business commissioned or approved this design.
We removed every name, logo and detail that could identify a real business, and there is no live link.
The goal
Get a ready visitor to call, and trust what they see
Most people who land on a tax office site already know they need a preparer — they're searching to find someone to call. The goal of this concept was to get that visitor to pick up the phone as fast as possible, and to trust the office enough to do it. That's a hypothesis this design is built around, not a measured result.
UX decisions
Plain language, one short page, mobile first
- Services named the way clients actually say them: individual returns, small business, bookkeeping — not "solutions" or "consulting."
- A short, single-page layout with clear hierarchy: one message per section, nothing to dig for.
- Built mobile first, since most visitors would land here from a phone.
- A warm, light palette instead of a generic template's default blue-and-white.
- A real-looking office photo instead of abstract stock art, so it feels like an actual local business.
The phone number
Built to be found, tapped and trusted
- Visible in the header without scrolling, on desktop and on phone.
- A tap-to-call link on mobile, so one tap starts the call.
- A "Call now" primary button in the hero, repeated again near the services.
- Written as real text, not an image, so it can be tapped, copied and read by screen readers.
What we left out
No booking, no portal, no chat
Online booking, a client portal, live chat, a blog and pop-ups are all missing on purpose. They add cost and distraction for a small office whose visitors mostly want to call, not browse. If a real client needed any of them, they could be added later.
What we’d measure
Signals we’d watch if this went live
- Taps on the call links.
- Contact-form submissions.
- Calls that mention the website.
- The search terms people use to find the page, through Google Search Console.
- The share of visitors on phone versus desktop.
